I have deleted so many links on the blogroll of each of my blogs. I am doing this regularly. I am visiting blogs on my blogrolls and I am so devastated to learn that there are so many inactive blogs for more than one year now. There are also many blogs who have deleted my link from their site and I am really pissed about it.
I didn't totally deleted their link on my blogroll by leaving their anchor text behind so that they will know that they've been deleted because I couldn't find my link from their site. So the next time they visit my blog and ask for an exchange link, I will know that they are not a good site to exchange link with.

i did blogroll clean up too two months ago. i was not even able to finish for lack of time.
Same here Tey...some are just dead links..so I deleted all those up too..they will just make our sites low in backlinks.
